my convictions lately.

I haven't posted a new blog in about one month. We've been busy, and I just haven't had much to post about. We've had some snow days here in Louisiana.. THREE to be exact! And one ice day where 30,000 people were out of power in Central Louisiana. It was crazy! And very cold! The girls loved it of course. Playing in the snow and being out of school. I got by with LOTS of coffee.. I'm still recovering. Lol!
Becca is four months old now (18 weeks) and she is rolling over and trying to sit up. She is growing so fast. Other exciting things have started to take place, but I'll have to write a blog about those later as they unfold.

But, what I'm writing about today is a question for other believers. Lately I've been reading scriptures and praying and I'm coming to realize more and more that we are neglecting the true Sabbath day, Saturday. In 300 A.D. Constantine changed their day of rest from Saturday to Sunday in regards to his god. Later the Catholic church agreed upon it and now even protestant churches have converted to it.
My question is : Why??
I have read scriptures where God has spoken and has said that keeping the Sabbath will be a mark of His people (Exodus 31:31, Ezekiel 20:20). He also says to keep His Sabbath holy and do not desecrate it (Isaiah 56:2). Exodus 31:16 even says that we are to keep the Sabbath as a covenant forever.
I'm just very confused, and even a little disappointed that we don't do this as Christians. I would love to hear what people's opinions are on this. History shows that Saturday is the true Sabbath, changed by Constantine/the Catholic church to Sunday. And if Gods Word is true and meant to take literally, then why do we not worship Him on His true Sabbath day?

The 2 most important things in our lives.

I want to use the next blog as a way to share the two most important things in our lives: Jesus, and natural parenting/lifestyles. I'm sure this will make a few people reading gasp and shake their heads, which is fine, but I'm going to share reasoning behind it all.

Jesus: We are a Christian household. What that looks like for us is, prayers before meals and bedtime, nightly bible stories, church twice a week... the whole nine yards! :) We believe Jesus is the only way for salvation and that He is the one true Son of God. My husband and I both have intense testimonies which I will share in a later blog, but faith in Jesus was the only thing that changed our lives and our hearts. Our prayer is that our girls don't have to go through those challenges in life, and will have a relationship with Jesus from a young age and continue to mature in their faith.

Natural lifestyle choices: We believe in having a healthy, natural lifestyle. We eat 90% whole/clean foods, breastfeed, and do not vaccinate. Doing these things promotes good health and actually allows our bodies to function the way they were intended to. I'll explain.

Foods) Simple enough... fresh fruits & veggies, clean meats when we can (no antibiotics or hormones added), organic milk & free range eggs, no box dinners (yes, this does stink some nights when dinner takes over an hour to prepare :/). Our bodies are meant to eat this way. Don't let me fool you... I LOVE a mcdonalds double cheeseburger & fri every once in a while!! But, for the most part we eat this way.

Breastfeeding) With my two older girls I wasn't educated enough on breastfeeding. I stopped at 3 months or less with both of them. I regret that, but I didn't know any better and I'm just thankful I attempted it at all. With Rebecca we will go a year exclusively breastfeeding. That means no juice, no solids, just mommy's milk for 12 months. I'm sure me and my husband will catch a lot of negativity about this one, but we've decided this is the healthiest choice for her. After that, she can wean when she is ready, but she will have solid foods.

Vaccinations) This is a sensitive topic to most, I'm aware of that. But, since most already know we chose not to give them I'll use this to explain WHY. I'll post links as well.
I'll start with the ingredient list. It alone is enough to keep us from giving those toxins to our children. Because that is literally what they are, TOXINS. Ranging from aluminum to formaldehyde (yes, what they put into dead bodies), all the way to two different aborted babies cells. In case you don't believe me, here's the link straight from the CDC website - http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/downloads/appendices/B/excipient-table-2.pdf
The rise of ADHD, Autism, asthma, etc. speaks for itself as the number of vaccines that we give to our children rises. Here's another link for that.
We give 49 doses of vaccines by the time a child turns 6! If you think these shots are safe take a minute to ask your doctor who is responsible if your child becomes vaccine injured. They will say "you, the parent." In 1986 a law was passed that protects the vaccine manufacturers from lawsuits if your child is injured or dies as a result of vaccines. Hmm.. Strange right?

Next I'll touch on how our bodies are meant and made to fight off illnesses and diseases. We have an immune system created for keeping us healthy. When we keep "tricking" our immune system by injecting dead (and some live) viruses into our bodies, our immune systems eventually stay in a state of overload which then creates things like hypersensitivity, allergies, and mood changes . This article is wonderful at explaining it all - http://www.vaccinedecision.info/cgi-bin/viewcontent.cgi?article_id=18
A fear of most people when it comes to not vaccinating is of course, catching the illnesses. We keep our immune systems healthy by taking vitamins and eating whole/clean foods. If any of us were to catch one of the "vaccine preventable diseases" we are prepared to treat them naturally or with homeopathic meds. We are also against *most* usages of antibiotics. They weaken the gut which filters out illnesses and also kill the bacteria without allowing the body to do any work, thus weakening the immune system even more. In this link a doctor goes through each disease and gives examples of the fallacy in vaccines. - http://healthimpactnews.com/2013/dr-kurt-why-i-will-never-choose-to-vaccinate-my-own-son-and-any-future-kids-my-wife-and-i-have/
Herd Immunity and why it's false.. (I actually copied and pasted this from another blog bc I'm fighting with a squirming 3 month old right now) 6) Herd immunity does not exist.
One of the “strongest” arguments for vaccination is that it is necessary to protect the herd. That is, if most or everyone is vaccinated (doctors and scientists recommend 95% or greater), then even the few people who cannot be vaccinated because they are too young or are medically unable will be protected. Supposedly, this herd immunity also protects all of the vaccinated people, too, because vaccines do not provide 100% protection, so if a large enough percentage is unvaccinated than diseases can begin to circulate again.
If “herd immunity” is necessary, then vaccines must not work that well. If children who are vaccinated can get illnesses they have been vaccinated against, then their vaccines did not work. This is an even bigger problem than is recognized, because if a child has been vaccinated and shows up in a doctor’s office with symptoms of a “vaccine-preventable” disease, the doctor is unlikely to recognize it as such. Doctors do not believe that children who have been vaccinated can get certain diseases, although they can and do. Should an unvaccinated child show up, though, doctors will jump on a diagnosis of a vaccine-preventable disease.
What about babies? In societies that don’t vaccinate, diseases are rare in babies because they are not often exposed to the illnesses, and they are protected by breastfeeding and/or mother’s immunities until 6 months. In societies that DO vaccinate, babies are exposed much sooner and their immune systems are weakened, leading to potentially serious illnesses. This is especially true for whooping cough.
What about the immuno-compromised? At least four of the major vaccines are live-virus vaccines: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and flu. All of these viruses “shed” for up to 21 days after vaccination, meaning that a recently-vaccinated child can actually infect other individuals. It is much more likely that a recently vaccinated child would be the start of an infection than an unvaccinated child. It says on the package inserts that children should avoid small children, the elderly, and any immune-compromised individuals for 21 days after vaccination – which most doctors and parents don’t know, and which is basically impossible without quarantine.
Those 3 topics are our main reasons for not vaccinating. Everyone has a choice and I just  hope that through me sharing the information other parents will look into them and not blindly trust the doctors. :)
These two things, Christianity and health are the two most important parts of our lives. I want to use this blog to focus mainly on different areas of those two things. I want to show the love of Jesus to the world and also promote good health and a natural lifestyle. Here's to hoping... :)

Getting started!

I have learned recently that words like mother, wife, and Christian have come to define who I am. While all of those are true I can't help but wonder what else makes me Stephanie Parker. I have lived a lot in my 21 years on earth. From crazy high school years filled with drama, sex, and drugs, which led to me becoming pregnant at 15 and getting married the day after my 16th birthday. Onto having a second baby at 17, abuse toward myself and my oldest daughter and then a divorce at 19. Somewhere in all of that craziness the Lord grabbed a hold of me. I gave my life to Jesus at 18 and even though some days seem dark, there is always hope because of Him. I was blessed with my two daughters and God used a lot of bad decisions to ultimately draw me to Him and glorify Himself.

Months after my ex-husband left and moved to Alabama, I met the man God truly made for me. We were together a little over a year before we got married and 8 weeks later found out we were expecting baby #3!! (I'm obviously very fertile.. I've heard all the jokes, believe me! Lol.) We are now a household of 4 girls (Caylee, Kyleigh, and Rebecca) and 1 very outnumbered daddy! :) Our life together is so much more wonderful than I could have ever imagined. I feel God has called me to be a mother and a wife and I am beyond thankful for the family that He has given me.
In the past 5 years I have experienced immense heart ache, love, anger, happiness, bitterness, and joy. Some days I've felt all of those emotions at the same time. I've gone from being a married teenage mom, to a single mom, back to being the mother and wife God created me to be. Caylee and Kyleigh's birth father is no longer in the picture. Since the day he left 3 years ago the girls haven't heard from him. Chris is their new "Jesus loving daddy". He exemplifies the meaning of "daddy" through his sacrifices and love. You'll probably hear me brag on him a lot throughout my blog posts! He's wonderful :) While I do still have scars from my past relationship, Jesus has done amazing things to allow those scars to heal. They were so open and raw for a very long time, but as time has gone by the pain has lessened and even the memories have faded. That's a whole other blog post all together.. I haven't decided how open I want to allow myself to be through this yet. What I do hope is that I can reach others who have gone through the same things I have or are currently going through them. I know God allowed certain things to happen in my life so that I could help others in the same way that others helped me through my trials. I pray that others can see the joy I have and see how Christ is working in mine and my family's life. We'll see how it goes! Here's to hoping.... :)
